Party, Party, Party

Whew, we are tired! We had two parties yesterday and were gone from our house from 12-10pm with only an hour in between. Now, please don't take this as a complaint...we had a fabulous day. It is nice to be a part of so many fun things.

The first party was the Dauphine twins first birthday. They had an impromptu party because their original plans fell through. It turned out to be a great party. The weather was perfect.

We enjoyed making crafts:

Playing with our BFFs:
Jumping in the bouncey:
Being held by everyone in sight:
And watch two kiddos prepare to dive into their first bite of cake:
Preston was the best birthday cake eater I have ever seen. It was hilarious.
Little Lily was having none of that messiness...such a girl!
So, after three hours with our good friends, we decided better head home and get ready for our next party.

So, onto Oxford Groverfest
(much like Oktoberfest, but more appropriately named after our street).
This is how it worked: Each neighbor chose a country and bought two or three different beers from that country for us to sample. They also brought a food from that country. We had the following countries represented with the following beers and food represented:

Ireland: Irish Red, Irish Stout, Guiness and a Lamb Stew
Italy: Peroni and Antipasta
Germany: Warfteiner, Spaten and Baroque Appetixers
England: New Castle, Boddington, Old Speckled Hen and Fish & Chips
Mexico: Negra Modela, Sol, and Tres Leche Cake
Texas: Shiner Bock, St. Arnold's and beef fajitas with guacolmole

I know, Texas is not a country, but Chris and Jerry were hosting the party and it was what they wanted! :)
Jerry and Paula
So, by looking at Kiera, can you guess which country the Simpson's represented:
Yep, Mexico!
Kevin chose the beer and I made the Tres Leche cake (which was FANTASTIC). We took third with Sol.

Here are the winners:
Kevin in third with Sol, Raquel in second with Warfteiner and Jerry in first with St. Arnold.

It was a fabulous party. In fact, I think it may be an annual one!
You should try it in your neighborhood party.

You guys have the best parties! I wish I lived on your street - we don't have any neighbors yet, and the ones across the street and stuff aren't any fun.
