What a difference a day makes!!!

24 hours ago I felt terrible!
Not because of the friend fallout (well maybe partly to that), but because the moment my feet hit the floor in the early morning light, after a slumber I cannot recall, I was ready to go back to bed.
For the day.
Hmmm, not good. I knew I was sick. On Tuesday, I knew something was wrong. I had 0% energy, I was ovelwhelmed, nothing was getting done, and I was fighting with my husband for no reason at all. Now, I had had a cough for two weeks, but with my nice festering throat infection, I shrugged it off. I am on a low dose antibiotic until my tonsillectomy in January to keep me healthy. HA. I should be immuned to all the little bacteria trying to take up residence in my body. Not so. When I went to bed two nights ago, I could hear crackling in my breathing. Last time, I heard that, I had pneumonia. Now, who the heck has time for pneumonia in December?
I had Kevin listen to my back for crackling or wheezing. According to his professional medical advice...there was crackling and wheezing and I was sick.
So, off I go to the Dr. (the regular PCP not the ENT) and off Kevin goes to work for God knows how long since he is on call. Kiera went to school.
Nice timing, right?
Dr. confirmed it. I was sick. Bronchitis! But, but.....not pneumonia.
So, I got the good drugs.......steroids and a stronger antibiotic!
I am not one to love to be on medicine. I hate pain killers. I hate anything that puts your head in a cloud or makes you feel unlike yourself....except for steroids. I love steroids.
I took my first dose at 2. By 7, I felt like a totally different person.
My long lost friend, Energy, had returned. I took a shower, cleaned up, started laundry! I felt great.
I am currently writing this post at 4:30 am. I have already started a load of laundry, fed the strays, and made coffee. One of the side effects of steroids is it will amp you up. Ahhhh....I needed some amping.
Now, I can make my Christmas cards! Energy...it is a good thing!
What a difference a day makes!

Wow - I wish I reacted the same to steroids... but no... I lose my vision - completely! About 2 years ago - I took my first round of steriods because of an allergic reaction to an antibiotic... and two days later - I had to go out and get a $200 pair of glasses... only to find that I didn't need them a week later. ARG! I've been through it once again for another allergic reaction similar to the first one - and yet again - the glasses came in handy!

Unfortunatley, steroids make me want to eat a horse!! Can't stand them. Glad to see you were feeling energized and productive after infused with the steroid. Take care of yourself.
