Kiera's First Slumber Party

This is what a slumber party is supposed to look like:
Yes, I am in the picture!
One of our participants did not know how to slumber very well, but had the party part down pat!
You guessed it....Kiera!

You see, last night was Dustin's birthday and he and Tasha had some friends over so we watched their kids, Katharine and Jakob. Rather than try and keep them up or wake them up at some unGodly hour, I decided to keep them overnight. Tasha and I agreed to give it a try and if it didn't work, she would come get them. Well, little did I know, my little one would be the one with the problems. She was so excited she forgot to sleep or lay down for that matter!
We watched Madagascar with strict rules of :

YOU MUST STAY ON THE BED!!

That is it, one rule and guess who broke it:

Here is a close up of the perp:

Turns out Kiera is a little class clown. Katharine and Jakob would have gone to bed probably within ten minutes of the movie starting, but Kiera made it her mission in life to keep them awake. She giggled, she jumped, she kicked them, she patted them, she shhhhhhed them(I mean seriously, who shhhhhhhs their older friends? ), but at no time did she actually try and slumber with them until I helped her! So don't be fooled by this picture:
Here are our sweet little slumber buddies:

It is pretty sad when your two year old friend tells you, "Kiera, lay down, it is night night time!" Kiera visited her crib a couple of times because she could not remember the one simple rule. After awhile, I gave up enforcing my rule and laid with Kiera and she finally fell asleep and so did Jakob and Katharine. Kevin and I finished the movie and our babysitting duties were done until 5:30 am when Katharine woke up. I am sure she was cold (I forgot to tell Tasha to dress them in parkas due to our meat locker we call a house). I covered Katharine and she fell back asleep, but Kiera was already awake. So I laid with them for another hour until Jakob awoke and said, "Get up---- it is wake up time!" Ok, so we did! Our first slumber party was pretty fun! Hopefully next time, Kiera will remember the slumber part!

Hysterical - I would have bet money that it would be the Simpson child that would be the life of the party! :-) She is a chip off the old block... isn't she?

I love it! Kiera is only 23 months old. I am sure she will get it soon enough.. We just have to keep practicing. I am available to drop my children off at your house for the night anytime to aid Kiera in her slumber party lessons.
