Whirlwind Chicago Adventure

Kiera and I decided to accompany Daddy on a Chicago overnight this past week. What supposed to be a little mini vacation turned into a 24 hour whirlwind adventure. This is how it went:
On Monday night at 9:00pm, Kiera and I boarded the plane in Houston and flew to Chicago with Daddy as our Captain! We landed at 11:30 and went to catch the shuttle for the hotel. Well, usually they show up in a van or small bus, but this time it was a Lincoln town car. It became very obvious that the crew, Kiera and I were not going to fit. Since the hotel did not own the town car, but instead contracted them out, they were willing to take us to the hotel for a mere $68 bucks plus tip and gratuity. Ummmm...I think not. We were supposed to rent a car the next morning to use to get to my Uncle Mike's house and then to get Kiera and I to Milwaukee (which is conveniently located in Wisconsin not Minnesota, go figure). Well, Budget Rental Cars did not have any cars available that night. So after stopping every rental car bus imaginable in Chicago asking if they had cars available, Kevin lucked out with Dollar/Alamo. After a lovely walkup rate of way too much money, we were headed to the hotel at nearly 12:30 am. Thank God I brought the Garmin GPS. So six and a half hours later we woke up and got ready to go see Uncle Mike.
Then the vacation gets better.......
We had a fabulous time in Naperville with Uncle Mike. We walked around Downtown Naperville which even has a riverwalk (where all the pics are taken) and did a little shopping and had a great lunch with Aunt Fran! Before long it was time to say goodbye and get Kevin back to Chicago O'Hare and for Kiera and I to be on our way to Milwaukee.
Then the vacation gets worse.......
Kevin's flight was delayed a little, then delayed some more, and then we were afraid he may not end up in Milwaukee at all, so Kiera and I decided we better just head home.
Then the vacation gets better......
Kiera and I boarded a 747 from Chicago to Houston with only 13 other people! SCORE!!!! We had our own row! She did great!
Then the vacation sucketh.......
I get to the car in the employee lot at 11:00 pm and it is DEAD!!!!!!!! I had to get it jumped. Luckily it worked and we were on our way at 11:15 pm
Then the vacation ended........
THANK GOD!!!!!!! Now we are quietly resting at home while Kevin still endures delay after delay..poor guy!
