Last weekend, I went to Canyon Lake in the Hill Country with seven of my girlfriends. We could not have asked for more beautiful weather. We had a fabulous time. Friday night, we stayed up until 4 am talking and snacking. Saturday we went into Gruene and had a delicious lunch at the Gristmill and then did a little shopping. To end our afternoon of fun, we did what all of us have always wanted to do, but never have....we dressed up like Saloon girls and got an old time picture made. It was a lot of fun. We went to bed a little earlier Saturday night and came home on Sunday. What made the weekend even better was the fact that my sweet wonderful husband drug the RV up to Canyon Lake to stay with Little Boo and bring her to me to nurse. He is such a trooper. He joined us for some fun in Gruene and had dinner with us at the cabin. He also ended up having a wonderful time. The RV park he stayed at was right on Canyon Lake and was breathtaking.
This weekend, started on Thursday for the Simpsons. For Valentine's Day, Kevin and I went to the Steven Curtis Chapman concert. We had a fabulous time. Even though Kevin and I have really only listened to Christian music for about three years and didn't know many songs, we still really enjoyed the show. Friday night I went with Tasha to scrap the night away at the Common Ground Craft and Crop at our church. I just love sitting with my girlfriend and chatting and cropping. In my mind, there are not many things better than that. Saturday was spent at our monthly dinner party. The girls got a little romantic and set up Tasha's house like an intimate restaurant candles, music and all. The boys thought we were splitting up and going to a girls dinner and a boys dinner, so they were surprised when they opened their card telling them to come back to Tasha's for dinner. We served our husbands and had some great conversation starters to keep us talking. We ended the night with Trivial Pursuit as a group. Both Kevin and I are terrible at this game, so we were glad to see it end! It seems are dinner parties are getting better and better. I really look forward to them each month. We challenged the guys in May to plan the party in celebration of Mother's Day. I cannot wait to see what they will do. Today was spent at church and will end with the start of a Couple's Bible Study at our friend's house. Yes, we are busy, but loving every minute of it.
