We are watching Martin and Seavon's kitty cat, Argyll, while they are in Europe. He is a Persian about 7 months old. He is currently slumming it with our cats, Orion and Oynx. I say slumming it because he is worth about ten times as much as our shelter tabbies.
Well, Seavon brought Argyll over on Thursday and both of our cats went right up to his cage and growled and hissed. I think it is because they were saying, "What the heck happened to your face?"
I was a little afraid my female cat, Onyx, might whoop up on Argyll, so I kept him in our master bathroom to get acclimated. Onyx stood guard right outside in case he got out and tried to take over the world. Oreo just hung his ears low and tried to stay out of everyone's way. He tried to curl up with me in bed the first night because he was scared. I told him to get down and start being a dog. I think I hurt his feelings. He is so sensitive.
The next day, I opened our door and let Argyll have the run of the upstairs. I watched very carefully and noticed that everytime Argyll came out, Onyx ran. Orion never knew what the heck was going on. So, I didn't worry much anymore. Argyll became very scared and spent most of Friday and the beginning of Saturday under our bed. I was worried about him. I know he is a friendly cat and it broke my heart to see him hiding.
Well, Saturday, he got very brave and came downstairs. Our cats did not flip out, so this was good. Now, he is spending his days chasing our cats who hiss at him every single time. He does not care one bit! He seems to really be enjoying himself. Now, Orion and Onyx, they are not enjoying themselves one bit. But, oh well! We enjoy Argyll. I will leave you with some pics:
"Who let the cat out of the bag???"

Cute!! We had a similar experience, although not as successful - with Robby & Sarah's dog Remi... she came to stay with us for Easter, and our dogs never did adjust. They spent the weekend in our bedroom while Remi got the run of the house.
