I have just had the most amazing day! First, let me tell you how it started off so you can appreciate the amazingness of it:
I really think I am losing my mind.....
I put the turkey in the bread basket ON TOP of the fridge yesterday. So when I went to make a sandwich for Kiera, I couldn't find the turkey!
I KNOW I transferred money from savings to checking before my trip, but apparently did not and accrued some nice banking fees that I discovered THIS morning!
I THOUGHT I put all of Katja's fruit in the fridge last night after coming home from a night of scrapping, but when I woke up, there it was on the table!
I scheduled a new tutoring job while Kevin is working and now will have to admit I am an idiot to a new client and move it! I hate that!
So, I head to Tasha's (as frustrated as ever at myself) to drop Kiera off all day so we can go shower some ladies at a pregnancy crisis center. We have been planning this baby shower through our ministry, Cypress Calling, for about two months. We were very excited. The center let us totally run the shower ourselves and even promote our minsitry while doing so. We showed up an hour and half early and set up a conference room to look more comfy and shower-like. Tara had made a super delicious but very delicate cake that was in the shape of a present. We had created TEN baby baskets that valued over $45 dollars that were personalized (thanks to the cricut) to each woman. We also brought sandwiches, fruit, punch, cheese and sausage, and mints. We had four games that were tons of fun. For prizes each winner got to pick a "mommy gift". What truly made the afternoon so special was the warm and welcoming response we got from the women. It is important to remember that these women came to the center because they were in trouble. We even had a fifteen year old that is about to deliver next month. But, each women was so thankful and so gracious! We received hugs, compliments, blessings, and so much more. The best part of the afternoon was when a few of the women and even one dad asked us to sign their bible. What an amazing feeling! I am so glad Melissa thought to pick those up! We all left the center a little lighter, if you know what I mean. Just spending an afternoon showering and blessing other women, made my morning seem so unimportant! We are hoping to have three showers a year and honestly, I cannot wait for the next one! Thank you to all of my sisters who helped make this shower possible! I hope your heart is as warm as mine!

Wow - you guys are amazing... you made the day for the women - I'm sure of it. They probably are in a pretty low place when they get there, but knowing that you guys cared that much had to have been amazing for them. I know God was smiling down on all of you!!
Very amazing and I only wish I could have witnessed it all but am so grateful that I could contribute in my own way. I also can not wait for the next one! Thank you for sharing and I loved how normally imperfect your morning went.
