Fun, Fun, Fun...

So I have learned the secret to a successful blog is to make your readers anticipate your posts......tee hee hee...
Back to the Fantabulous Fourth...
My brother and his family arrived here on Tuesday for a 28 hour layover before we all headed out to visit my mom and sister. We stuffed as much fun as possible in those 28 hours. We showed off our house and yard, we swam, we ate at my favorite Mexican restaurant (Alicia's), and we even went to the Zoo before heading out. Unfortunately, we have no zoo pictures because my sister-in-law decided to bring her camera, but did not realize she did not have the memory card in it. I left mine in the car :(
When we planned my brother's visit we did not realize that we do not have a car big enough to fit our family and his family, so we took two cars. Kevin had the work the day we went to the zoo, so we crammed ourselves into the Blumina (Blue Lumina) like sardines and headed out. Let's just say we were so close that my nephew, Ryan, could simply reach over and grab the steering wheel (which he did a few times!!!). Sort of scary!!!
We had tons of fun at the zoo. There were quite a few daycamps there, but after one clap of thunder, they dispersed and the zoo was nearly empty. It never did rain. We enjoyed a really nice picnic that we had packed ourselves and were amazed at all of the different animals- especially the giraffes. The giraffe exhibit allowed you to get really close to the animals. They were so tall, my brother (who is 6'1") could have easily walked under their bellies. Kiera took one look at them and said, "Doggie". I think I have some work to do in the animal department. Maybe she was thinking of Clifford...hee hee!
As I said, we went to the zoo the same day we left for El Paso. Since we have to dress nice to fly standby, we just got ready in the airport bathrooms. Quite a few people gave us some funny looks! Oh well...we made a memory. I leave you with some pics of the day:

Kiera making the Charlands laugh in our backyard (most likely by picking her nose)
In order from left to right--Mike, Melissa, Courtney (12) and Ryan (9)

Now this is a rare sight---Kiera would only kiss my brother IF he gave her a cookie!

Courtney and Ryan enjoying our neighborhood pool.

We wore them out!!! The Charlands lounging on our couch!

Coming next: Pictures of the fun in El Paso featuring the Rocket pictures!

Looks like a great 28 hours in Houston! I wonder if I can train John to give me something (not a cookie though) whenever he wants a kiss?! HA!

We have to dress nice because we represent Kevin. There is a dress code and they follow it!
