Yes, it is real!!!
We were sitting on the couch having some coffee and I turned around to look at Kiera and my first thought was...hmmm..how did she get the fake snake out of the plant? My second thought was....the fake snake is not that big! My third and final thought was, OMG....MY BABY IS HOLDING A REAL SNAKE!!!
Now what would you have done???????????? Would you have screamed? Yelled? Cried? Would you have ran toward your baby? Away from your baby? Seriously think about this.....
I am not afraid of snakes, but I do respect them...a great deal! Think of it like a healthy fear!
So I did not scream and I did not run away! I gasped and said to Kevin, "OMG, she has a snake!" We both jumped up and the first words out of Kevin's mouth were: RELAX!
Ummmmmmmmmm.....this is where I have a problem. RELAX? Should I grab the box of bon bons and flip on the Soap Operas and continue with my day? I think not!!!
Luckily, Kevin knows a little snake facts and happen to know if their head is rounded, they are harmless. He picked him up and we noticed he had a little nick in his rear. I am sure one of my lovely cats brought him in from the garden! So, now that I have relaxed a little, I ran and got the camera. In the picture, you will see a speck of blood on Kevin's hand from the snake. I can't really say I feel sorry for the snake. We did release him back into our yard. Awww...what a day!
My freaky family examining the morning visitor!

Ahhh oh my Jenn I would have been freaking out!!!
gosh, that Kiera is completely fearless!! Luckily, it was harmless. Looks like a Texas Brown snake. We had lots of these in our yard early on. You were great though. I would have FREAKED out. I am not sure my fear of snakes is a calm, respective one. It is a little over the top. I also love Kiera's spread eagle on the slip and slide!
My Gosh - I would have freaked too!! I'm so glad that your healthy fear helped remedy the situation without any event!
