Adventure after Adventure....

My Mother in Law came in to watch Kiera during my training and ended up staying a week. A strange virus visited her and kept her here a little longer than planned. Before she got sick, we did manage to get a few fun things in. On Monday, we went to Willowbrook Mall for some playground fun, lunch, and a little shopping. On Tuesday, we went to Galveston and went to Moody Gardens, a fabulous seafood lunch, and of course, the beach! Wednesday I made a marathon driving trip to drop Kevin off in College Station, drive to IAH, and then home. The entire trip took five hours. Last time I do that! On Thursday, Kevin and I went to Arbor Gate Nursery and then to a delicious country lunch at Goodson's cafe. On Friday, we went to the Outlet Mall and then dinner and I headed to a friends to scrap. Phew...that was a lot..but I am still not done.
Yesterday, Gustav looked a little too ominous for me to stay home with the baby and three pets by myself, so we decided to send Kiera with my MIL to El Paso and I was going to drive the pets there and wait it out. Since Kevin had to work Sun-Tues, we thought this would be the best plan. Well today, it looks like Houston probably won't be hit and if it does, it will most likely be Wed. or Thurs. By then Kevin will be home. So, I am going to go to El Paso for a few days while Kevin is at work, but I am going to fly. By flying I will save myself 12 hours in the car by myself with three pets and $300 in gas! I will come home Tuesday and see what this storm will do. At least I won't be alone.

So, are you wondering what two parents did for nearly 24 hours without their baby? Well mostly we talked about her and missed her! We only moped a little. We already had plans for dinner with some friends, so we kept those. We had a fabulous time at dinner and then went and played pool and darts. It was fun to do a little of the stuff we used to, but it is not something we really miss! We miss Kiera! Kevin told me I should spend the next three days here by myself and enjoy time alone and he would go get Kiera on Tuesday and bring her home on Wed. I couldn't even imagine what that may be like, so I passed. I am afraid I would be so lonely without any of my family. Not even hours of writing or scrapping would fill my heavy heart. So, off I go to El Paso on a plane by MYSELF!!! YAY! I do not like flying with Kiera. She is soooooooooooooooo wiggly on a plane. I will take my Jodi Picoult book and crawl into someone else's life for the two hour flight.

I have some fantastic Galveston photos to share and a great lipstick horror story, but that will have to wait until my next adventure has come to an end. Also, I will have to post about Arbor Gate. All I can say is it was Heaven on Earth for me! Until next time---stay safe and stay dry!
Love, Jenn

hi there -- if you like Jodi Picoult maybe try a new author published by the same team -- STANDING STILL, by Kelly Simmons (yes that's me -- just trying to get the word out, forgive me!!) Happy reading.
