Daddy's Little Mechanic

"Let me take a look"

"Daddy, I think I have found your problem"

"Put this here, give it a little turn..."

"That will be $536.03!"

Kiera loves to work in the garage with her Daddy! Most of the time you can find her alongside him playing with her baby or one of her other toys, but occasionally, you will see her helping him. On this particular day, Kevin was replacing the struts on the Lumina. He was reading the manual to determine the next step and he turned around only to see his assistant hard at work.
More than two years ago, we found out the baby growing in my belly was a girl. For quite some time, we thought for sure our little one was a boy. At the ultrasound, when they announced it was a girl, I was ecstatic. Kevin on the other hand, felt a pang of disappointment. I asked him why he was so set on having a boy. Now, I know all Dads want a boy, but I wanted to hear HIS reasoning. He told me he wanted a boy so he could teach him to work on cars and how to fly an airplane. Little did he know, gender didn't matter. His little girl loves being right next to him in the garage working on the cars. I am confident this will be true for airplanes as well!Posted by Picasa

Look at that little cutie!! Kevin should be very proud... I think she knows more at her age than I do at mine. She probably has more interest too... but on the flying a plane thing - I'm IN!!

Reminds me of me and my dad as I grew up. By the time I had my own car I could change my own oil, including engine flush, and change my tires. Great skills for a girl to have!
