Today I drove into my neighborhood with a heavy heart. We are on Day 5 of no power. My wonderful friend, Selina, has graciously housed Kiera and I for the last three days and I am thankful for that, but I miss my home and my pets. Each morning I go to my house and check on the kitties and get Oreo from the neighbor and give hime some love as well. I feel so happy in my home even without power. I turn on the battery powered radio that I borrowed from my neighbor and open all the windows so I can feel the heaven sent breeze dancing over the tile. Seriously, there is no other reason for Houston to have a cool front in September with temps barely reaching the 80s except that we have an awesome God. I figure He sent us this cool front to help the millions without power. Although it has been nearly a week without power, every time without fail, I flip the switch when I walk in the bathroom or when I am in the closet getting dressed. I sort of chuckle to myself each time. DUH..no power.
Because the weather is so beautiful, Selina and I took the kids to my neighborhood playground for a picnic lunch today. I drove through my neighborhood to pick up my neighbors cell phone so I could charge it for her at Selinas. This is when my neighbor told us some glorious news.......
There are 23 trucks, yes 23, from Michigan at the entrance of my neighborhood fixing my electric poles!!! We all cheered when we heard this! I just love Michiganians or whatever they are called! I am sure it will take them awhile to fix it, but at least they are working on it! It truly was a sight for sore eyes! Hopefully in the next few days we will have some power!

Hi. Thank you! That is super sweet of you to say something like that! :) I have a Nikon D50. I used a 50mm lens with those pics.
Yeah for Michigan!! I hope that they get the power going for you guys soon! If you need anything - we're here too!
