I am my own maid!

I was so excited about my maid coming yesterday, probably a little too excited. Well, guess what? She didn't show! I was so mad for many reasons. The first one is obvious...I expected her to come and she did not. The second one is because Kiera took a four hour nap and I could have had the whole house cleaned in that time, but what did I do? Hardly anything. I was not about to clean when I was paying someone else to do it. The third reason is because I tried calling to see if maybe she could come today, but whoever answered the phone did not speak English and with what little Spanish I have I learned my maid was not home. After the third phone call of the evening, I asked if anyone spoke English and the lady said no. Yeah right! You know one of those ladies (I have heard it is several families living together) has a kid and one of those kids speaks English. How do I know? I taught ESL. Most kids speak far better English than their parents. I started getting the feeling like my call was being dodged because my maid did not want to clean my house. So, what is a girl to do, but clean her own house. I think God was probably trying to teach me a lesson. He is probably up there shaking his head and saying, "Jenn take pride in your own house and save some money while doing so!" So I did! I feel like maybe He rewarded me because I also sold my table! Linda Hardin had a friend whose son needed a table. She gave me a crisp one hundred dollar bill and picked it up today! I will put the money toward my new chairs for my new dining room table. Back to the house, I am almost done and it looks so sparkly. I know I did a much better job than any maid and I am FAR cheaper. I just didn't get to the fans (Don't tell a soul, Katja), but if I keep them running no one will know!

Well I am back to finish a few odds and ends and put my feet up for a few....
