New Beginnings
Our family got to be a part of something really wonderful yesterday.... welcoming Alexandra Manuel into her new home country. It started at bible study when someone suggested meeting Dawn and Adam at the airport as a surprise when they brought home their newly adopted daughter from China. I thought it was a great idea and wanted to be a part of it. Much to my surprise, so did Kevin. So, three families met at the Starbucks in terminal E and waited for them to arrive. After an hour, they finally came through the door. We hooted and hollered and clapped. As soon as Dawn heard and saw us she started crying. It was a wonderful sight. She rolled Alexandra to us and we oooohed and ahhhhhed. She is an absolutely beautiful little girl. I honestly cannot imagine someone leaving this little darling on a doorstep. I am so thankful Adam and Dawn adopted her. It warms my heart. I am so very excited for them and a tad jealous. I would love to be where they are someday. I just wouldn't want to wait the three years they did. So after the welcoming and hugging , Dawn invited us over to her house. I would have been like, "Thanks for coming, see ya soon!" I would not have wanted all these people in my house. But, Dawn and Adam are amazing people. So we go to their house and they have gifts for us all and Ms. Betty has cooked an amazing dinner! We had a wonderful time. Kiera got some of those squeaker shoes and she LOVES them! She walked and walked and walked. It was great seeing all these kids running around all in honor of a new baby coming home! Kiera had such a good time she came home and slept 13.5 hours! Sweet! As if that were not enough excitement~ we had been noticing this bird in our gutter. At first, we thought he/she was hurt or dead! Then we saw a head move so we figured she was laying on some eggs. Well last night, Kevin risked his life and climbed onto the garage roof and took a picture so we could see. She has two little eggs she is keeping warm. How sweet. She is not the smartest bird because she made a nest in the gutter...where it rains...A LOT! So, today it is supposed to really storm with hail. Hopefully the bird family will fare well! She is quite the squawker if any birds come near. But, if we come near she stays silent. Maybe it is because we let her live here rent free! What a fun day! For those of you keeping up with the posts~~~ I did get the rental car for FREE! Go ME! I leave you with some pictures of our little bird and her soon to be babies:

It WAS absolutely amazing to be at the airport to greet the Manuel family with their new baby daughter Alexandra. Definitely the highlight of my week...or month rather! I love the birdie story! Looks like it is a dove. She was smart to build in the corner. I hope she weathers the rain today! FREE car rental...YIPPEEE! Can't beat that.
Wow I wish I could have been there at the airport. It sounds awesome. I love the bluebonnet pic.
