Fall is upon us..

Technically, Fall comes on September 22 or 23rd, but it arrives right after Labor Day at the Simpson household. There are many signs that Fall is here. Here are a few:

Starbucks begins serving Pumpkin Spice Latte
Labor Day passes
Summer travels come to an end
School starts
Summer Decor goes up in the attic and the Fall Decor comes down
We get a giant box of clothes for the next season from Aunt Wanda

In Houston, the weather changing does not bring on Fall. Weather changes come around January when we enter our second season..Not So Hot. That season lasts about 6 weeks. We are currently in the season of So Very Hot. But, for fun and games we will still decorate for Fall. I had my first Pumpkin Spice Frappucino (too hot for a latte) and as always, it was delicious! I took down the Summer decor and put out the Fall Decor. What do you think:

Kiera started school today as well! Technically her school started Tuesday, but we were in El Paso due to the Hurricane. I splurged and got her an embroidered lunch box and nap mat to match her backpack. She loved all of them. Here she is all ready to go!

And here she is at school. She did not cry. In fact, she did not even bat an eyelash at our departure! Is she secure or glad to be away from us???

We were told she did wonderfully well. She even came home with a daily report. It said her mood was happy and that she played with blocks, puzzles, and dolls. Dolls was circled and SO SWEET was written under it. If you have not seen Little Kiera play with her dolls, it is truly the sweetest thing ever. She will someday be the greatest Mommy! She ate all her lunch and did not poop or sleep. Now, Kevin and I knew she wouldn't sleep. I guess she saves the poop for us!

Twice a year, Aunt Wanda sends Kiera a giant box of clothing for the next season. The clothes are just adorable and Kiera loves trying them all on. Here she is in one of the outfits and holding up two more of our favorites!

Here is all of the stuff laid out.

Thanks Aunt Wanda!

We did send this picture as a Thank You card.

As Fall comes closer, summer ends! We had a terrific summer, which you all have been reading about. We celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary in June at Fort Lauderdale. We also went to El Paso several times, but had a particularly great time at the 4th of July when my brother came in to town. Some good times were had at home as well. For instance, the day Kevin and I caught Kiera painting herself like an Indian with my lipstick:

Thank God she was only wearing a diaper. She was so hard to clean up! Lipstick has become a NO NO from now on!

After four years in this house, we decided it was time to paint. The builder gray got a little old. We chose a beautiful yellowish/goldish/brownish color. After we finished, Kevin vaccummed the rug and the new color is very visible in the background:
Yes, he is wearing ear protection. We acquired this vaccuum from our neighbor's trash. It wasn't really working for them. Well, Kevin fixed it (because that is what he does), but it is INCREDIBLY loud! It is the best vacuum we have ever had, so we won't let a little hearing loss keep us from using it!
Even Kiera gets some protection:

For our last Summer fling, we went to Galveston. We took Kevin's mom and went for the day. None of had been to Moody Gardens, so we thought we start there. There was no one there hardly, so that was nice. Unfortunately, nothing was open. We did visit the Rainforest:

After the Rainforest, we had a fabulous seafood lunch at Casey's and then headed to the beach:

We had a great time just soaking up the sun and sticking our piggies into the sand. And we caught the best picture EVER taken of Kiera:

I am glad Summer is coming to a close and Fall is here! It is my favorite time of year. I was born in the Fall, which is probably why it is my favorite season. It is not about birthday gifts, it is just about the colors, the holidays, and all of the smells and flavors that I love. There is absolutely nothing pumpkin flavored that I don't like. I also like all of the oranges, reds and yellows that can be found. And of course, it means Christmas is on its way! So there is only one thing left to say:

Happy Fall Y'all

Love the new wall color! Is the maid for rent???? ha ha. Absolutely love the school pic of you and Kiera. YOu look awesome! I am just in awe of how fast Kiera is growing. I still can envision you walking around with your gorgeously pregnant belly patiently awaiting her arrival.

I lvoe fall too. Probably because I was born in November. Your right that is the cutest picture of Kiera. Let the scrapping begin. The weather here is very fall like. Cool breeze during the day with a nip in the air at night, I love it!
